Organisation | General Periods | Periods | Self-Service Settings tab
Summary |
This tab page holds a default value for whether new employees can access ESS, and the ESS Leave Cut-Off (Freeze for processing) field setting. This tab page is used by the Module combo list on the User-Defined - Accumulation tab page. |
Self-Service enabled default for new employees |
When creating a new employee, they need to be given access to ESS through the "Self-Service enabled" field before they can access ESS. To simplify this step, a default can be set on the Period. To allow all new employees access to ESS automatically, this setting needs to be set to 'Yes' on all Periods. This only occurs when setting up a new employee. Changing Pay Periods on an existing employee will not affect their access to ESS. |
Freeze for processing |
This setting allows the business to stop Leave Requests being added to open periods automatically. The next pay to be closed (Next Paid Day - NPD) has not yet been closed but the payroll person wants to 'freeze' any more Leave Requests received so that the pay can be processed and closed without worrying about late leave requests. Leave Requests received after the Cut-Off are treated as type 'P' - requests, managed through payroll. Enter +/- values (decimals OK) of hours to set the Cut-Off relative to Pay Period end. Positive values will move the cut-off after the end of the pay period (midnight on last day plus 13 hours will set the Cut-Off to 1pm the next day). This will allow 'last-minute', retrospective leave applications on the morning after the period ends, eg Sick Leave. Negative values will bring the Cut-Off before the period end (you might want to finalise a pay prior to a Public Holiday. |
