Calculate Annualised Salaries

Summary

The Calculate Annualised Salaries command allows supervisor users to do a bulk recalculate of all, or a subset, of employees' Annualised Salary field or default Rate Amount field.

When should I run this command?

You should run this command using the Annualised Salary option, if:

  • Multiple employees default rates have been changed in the system via one of the following methods:
    • Synchronisation
    • Employee rate update spreadsheet
    • The Annualised Salary Default Hours value on an award setup changes
  • Profiled hours have been changed for multiple employees.
  • Multiple employees have changed to new awards.
  • Multiple employees have changed pay frequency (eg: have changed from fortnightly to monthly).
  • The Annualised Salary Default Hours field in Modify Company Settings is adjusted.

You should run this command using the Default Rates option, if:

  • You notice, that despite an employee having a Default Rate code, and a non-zero rate is present in the rate hierarchy that the employee's default rate amount is zero.

Fields
Employee Query:

To apply this command to specify group of employees, select the required Employee Query. Or, leave this field blank to apply this command to all employees.

Preview Only:

When you click the Preview Only button, the system runs the command without updating the database.

The results are written to a Log file which contains the before and after values of each employee's salary/default rate.

Run Update:

When you click the Run Update button, the system presents you with a prompt asking you to confirm you really want the system update the database.

  • If you click 'Yes', the system runs the command and updates the database. The results are written to a Log file which contains the before and after values of each employees Annualised salary or Default rate amount.
  • If you click 'No', the system returns you to the Calculate Annualised Salaries form.

Notes
Security:
  • The user profile must have the supervisor checkbox ticked for the user to be able to view the Calculate Annualised Salaries menu option.
Queries:
  • When running the tool, queries are respected in the following areas:
    • From the employee query specified on the tool
    • From the active employee query on the employee grid
    • From the User Profile security query
    • From the User Profile default query

      On top of the above, by default, the tool is run on non-terminated employees only.
