Overview

IR define a company/employer by its IRD Number.

The source of your employer details is dependant on whether or not the pay period of the pay you are reporting is linked to an Internal Company.

If not linked to an Internal company, then the employer is deemed to be the company specified in Modify Company Settings (sometimes referred to as the "Main" company)

If linked to an Internal company, then all employer details from that Internal company record.

Given, the use of Internal companies is sometimes used for internal financial reporting purposes not the intended tax reporting purpose it is recommended that ALL pay periods be linked to an internal company.

Please ensure each of the following contains the correct data

Main company

• Company name matches that of the company's IR number
• All fields on the General | Company Details | Contact Details tab except the Contact Trade name (this isn't used for IR reporting anymore)
• Employer IRD Number (also see Intermediaries)

Internal Companies

• Description matches the company name of the stated IRD number.
• Contact name, Email, Mobile, Phone - reflect the person IR can contact if there is an issue with the data reported.
