Payday Reporting Manager - Discharge Obligation

Overview

The Discharge Obligation feature allows you to stop the data for the reporting obligation from being submitted to IR via the Gateway solution.

It is expected that this feature will only be used under the following circumstances:

  • The data has already been reported to using a non-Gateway method.
  • The data does not need to be reported to the IR eg.
    • Opening balance pays.
    • Non-opening balance pay being used to clean-up historical data that does not otherwise impact what has been reported to IR.

A Reason and Details are captured to assist with reporting compliance audits.

When you click the Trash can button the Discharge Obligation dialog box opens.

When discharging a pay reporting obligation, an warning explaining the consequences of the action in displayed.

How to

Complete the following steps:

  1. Select a Reason
  2. Type in Details of why this reporting obligation is going to be stopped from being submitted via the Payday Filing Gateway solution.
  3. Click OK
Reason

The number of reasons you would prevent data from being submitted to IR via the Gateway solution is expected to be limited to a common list. To avoid having to type the primary reason each time you can select the appropriate reason.

  • Reported via File Upload/Website/Phone

    To be used when your data for this event has already been sent to IR via one of their non-Gateway filing methods

  • Excused via Phone

    To be used when IR have given verbal consent for data relating to this event to be omitted from being sent via any filing option

  • Testing

    To be used if you have accidentally enabled Payday filing on a Test database.

  • Non Reportable

    To be used for Opening balance pays and Non-opening balance pay being used to clean-up historical data that does not otherwise impact what has been reported to IR.

  • Other

    To be used when none of the other reasons are appropriate.

This is a free text field that enables you to record any pertinent details that an Auditor may require to validate your compliance with Payday Filing.
