Importing Data to Payroll

Payroll | Payroll Import Types

Summary

PayGlobal can import a wide range of formats into the current Payroll transactions area.

To import data

The importing phase is broadly split into two tasks:

  1. Convert the import file to a standard data table.
  2. Import data.

Convert the import file to a standard data table

For each import file, PayGlobal will first try to convert the import file into a standard data table that is independent of the format chosen to import.

  • Values that are supplied in the respective format are placed into their corresponding fields in this independent table.
  • Null values are left as Null.
  • Values that are not asked for in this particular format are left as Null in this independent table.

Import data

The next phase is the actual importing step. During the data import PayGlobal may create some default values for each field for each record that is imported. It will also overwrite any values in the independent table that are not filled (not Null).

Which fields are importable?

For a list and description of the fields that are importable, please see Importable Payroll Fields.
