Schedule Rules

Scheduling | Schedule Rules

Summary

A schedule rule contains Qualifying Clauses and Action Clauses.

Qualifying Clauses

Scheduler determines when and how often schedule rules should run; qualifying clauses determine whether the rules are applied. For example, a rule is scheduled to run every day, but the qualifying clause is Day of week is equal to Monday. As a result, the rule only runs every Monday. The qualifying clause Day of month is equal to 3 means that the schedule will run on the third day of every month.

You can create single clauses, such as Day of week is equal to Wednesday, or multiple clauses using the Boolean links 'and' and 'or'.

Action Clauses

Action clauses are the processes that PayGlobal will perform when the qualifying clause conditions are met. A schedule rule may have several action clauses, and consequently several actions are performed.

When you create an action clause, you can schedule any of the actions in the Fields list.

Specifying dates in Action Clauses

The following action clause uses a date range:

'Process report group, offset from -1 to -1, reportgroup code P-MTHLY'.

The From and To values refer to the number of days ago that the date fell. PayGlobal will then find all pay sequences with a PTD date range that includes that date.

For example, if you run a report every Wednesday, and the period end date is Sunday, then you would enter a value of -3 for PayGlobal to find pay sequences belonging to that PTD date range.
