L/Nett %

Transaction View

Summary

L/Nett % = Last Nett Percentage Variance

The L/Nett % column in Transaction View calculates a percentage value based on the nett pays of the:

  • Current pay
  • Last closed Standard pay.

The final value can be a positive or a negative value.

PayGlobal uses a comparative calculation to derive L/Nett % (see example below) so Transaction View displays L/Nett % values in the second to last closed pay and earlier, never in the most recently closed pay.

Example

The most recently closed pay is Pay Sequence 71, and Transaction View shows the following values for Wendy Palmer:

  • Nett = $727.61
  • L/Nett % = [Blank].

The previous closed pay is Pay Sequence 69, and Transaction View shows the following values for Wendy Palmer:

  • Nett = $729.61
  • L/Nett % = 0.27.

PayGlobal used the following calculation to derive the L/Nett % value:

729.61 - 727.61 = $2.00

2.00 / 727.61 = 0.002749

0.002749 * 100 = 0.2749

As a result, the most recently closed pay never displays a L/Nett % value.

Highlighting results

Use Quick Results to highlight a specific variation between the value of the nett pay of the current pay and the last closed pay.

For example, you could highlight all results that are either 20% higher or lower than the last nett pay.

To highlight 20% variation in nett pay:

  1. Click a cell in the L/Nett% column.
  2. In the main menu, click Tools | Customise | Customise Column Extensions, or alternatively press Alt+F10.
  3. On the Details tab, ensure that the Data source field =
    {current view}.Nett / Last Nett Percentage Variance.
  4. Click the Results tab to see the Details sub-tab.
  5. In the Customise Column Extn - Results combo box, select Yes to highlight cells when there is a result.
  6. In the colour palette, right-click to select the background colour (displays as BG), and left-click to select the foreground colour (displays as FG).

The track bar to the right, controls the background brightness.

  7. Click the Quick Results sub-tab.
  8. Click the No Restrictions clause and press Enter.
  9. Select the criteria for the result and click OK.

For example, the clause for the 20% variation is:

Total.{current view}.Nett / Last Nett Percentage Variance is greater than or equal to -20
    -or-
Total.{current view}.Nett / Last Nett Percentage Variance is less than or equal to 20.

When a value in the L/Nett% column matches the criteria in the clause above, the cell is highlighted the colour that you selected.
