Use this tab page to specify the physical setup of a User-Defined Field (UDF). You can also specify items to appear in a combo box, if applicable. |
Fields |
Lookup entity:If you want the UDF to use data from another entity, specify the other entity here. The field name must end in CODE if you are specifying a lookup table. Lookup query:You may want to use data from an existing query for a UDF. This applies particularly to large organisations where there may be several locations and divisions to select from. A query helps to define your data search. A lookup query can only be used when a Lookup entity has been selected. Post Validation:This combo field has the following options:
Setting this field to 'Bank Account' allows you to create your own user-defined bank account type fields. PayGlobal applies the necessary bank account checksums to these types of fields. Combo items:When the Data type field on the Details (i) tab page is Char you can specify the items that will appear in a combo box for the new UDF. Click the Edit Items button to reach the User Defined Lookup form. The Edit Items button is found just below the Combo items field name. User editable combo:Select 'Yes' to allow the Combo items to be edited by users. This will display a pick list icon next to the new field. Top:How far this field will appear from the top of the entity form. Left:How far this field will appear from the left of the entity form. Width:How wide the field will appear on the entity form. Tab order:Order of the tabs as they will appear on the entity form. |
