Employees - Probation

Summary

Probation may be used as part of a structured Induction process. Probation regularly monitors a new employee’s performance and provides a framework for counselling or other remedial action. The probationary period is a good opportunity for management to gauge the effectiveness of the selection process.

Recording Probations

Create Probation records:

  • when an employee starts their employment  — as a trial period for a new employee

    -or-

  • as a result of disciplinary action for an existing employee.

Procedure

To add a Probation record, switch to Edit mode and press Insert.

The Employee Probations - Details tab appears.

Summarising Probations

A summary of probations for all employees is displayed in the Employee Probations makeup table.
