The Medicare Levy Adjustment tab page is based on questions asked of the employee on the Medicare Levy Variation Declaration. These questions determine whether an employee is exempt from a higher rate of tax, and if the employee is required to pay extra deductions to cover the levy surcharge. |

Select Yes or No for each applicable field: Do you have a spouse?*:Question 9 in the Medicare Levy Variation Declaration states: "Do you have a spouse?" Is your income less than the weekly threshold?*:Question 10 in the Medicare Levy Variation Declaration states: "Is the combined weekly income of you and your spouse, or your income as a sole parent, less than the relevant amount?" Do you have dependent children?*:Question 12 in the Medicare Levy Variation Declaration states: "Do you have dependent children?" Number of dependent children*:If you have dependent children, enter the number of dependent children in this field. Note: Fields marked with an asterisk will be be disabled for editing if the employee is enabled for fully featured workforce management integration. These fields are sourced from workforce management. |
Medicare Levy Surcharge |
The Medicare Levy Surcharge grid allows you to keep a record of the Medicare Levy Surcharge values from each separate Medicare Levy Variation your employee provides to you. To add a record, make sure the employee record is in Edit mode first, then right click into the grid area and select add record. PayGlobal will open the Add Employee Medicare Levy Variations makeup table. Based on the start date selected, the applicable surcharge rates for the tax year which the date falls into will be displayed. |
