Minimum Wages - Details

Organisation | Entitlements | Minimum Wages | Details tab

Summary

PayGlobal has a Minimum Wages entity that allows you to record the rate amounts for the "Adult", "Starting-out", "Training" and "New Entrant" wage rate types as prescribed by the New Zealand government.

Note: A trainee is an employee whose contract requires them to do at least 60 credits of industry training a year for the position to which their contract relates.

You must record a value for the adult minimum wage rate.

Fields
Start date:

Date this rate applies from.

End date:

Date this rate applies to.

Wage rate type:

Select "Adult", "Starting-out", "Training" or "New Entrant".

Note: Employees of any age can receive the training wage.

Rate amount:

Minimum hourly payment rate.

Note: Ensure that these rates are updated regularly in accordance with Minimum Wage legislation.

Updating Rates

You should not edit a Minimum Wage record if a pay period associated with that record has already been closed. If you then roll back a pay and re-process it, PayGlobal uses the amended Rate amount value; not the original value. If you edit the Rate amount, a warning message appears.

Important: We recommend that you create a new record each time a minimum wage rate changes.
