Summary

In this example, an employee opted out of KiwiSaver so you need to reverse her KiwiSaver transactions in a closed pay sequence that you have not reported to Inland Revenue yet.

This topic explains the second step in this process.

Process
  1. Access Transaction View for the employee's closed pay sequence.

Note: Ensure that the employee's KiwiSaver allowances all have Details (ii) tab | Hidden allowance = "No" so you can see them in Transaction View.

  2. Customise the Drill Down area to include the Tax Total column so you can see any ESCT on the KiwiSaver transactions.
  3. Select the employee's Code cell and identify her KiwiSaver transactions in the Drill Down area.

In this example, the employee has the following KiwiSaver transactions:

    Code

    Description

    Rate Amount

    Tax Total

    Total

    463

    KiwiSaver - SS - %

    5.0000

    2.97

    47.62

    (463)

    (Contra) KiwiSaver - SS - %

    -47.62

    813

    KiwiSaver - Employee %

    4.0000

    -38.10

    815

    KiwiSaver - SS - %

    5.0000

    -47.62

You will create reversal transactions in a Manual pay based on these values.

Note: If you needed to reverse only a portion of these transactions, then you could either:

    • Reverse the full amounts and then re-enter the correct values

      - or -

    • Work out the reversal values and enter them.
