User-Defined Fields - Set Tab Page Details

Summary

When you create a User-Defined Field (UDF), you can assign it to one of four user-defined tab pages in the selected entity. After you save the UDF record, you can use the Set Tab Page Details form to change:

  • The name of the user-defined tab page
  • The location of the user-defined tab page in the entity.

Set Tab Page Details

To access the Set Tab Page Details form:

  1. Navigate to the User-Defined Fields grid.
  2. Right-click a User-Defined Fields record that is on the user-defined tab page you want to rename.

    For example, the Car registration UDF is on the User-Defined (i) tab page so you would right-click this record to rename this tab page.

  3. In the right-click menu, click Set User Defined Tab Details.

    The Set Tab Page Details form appears.

Fields
Tab Page Caption:

Name of the user-defined tab page.
To change the name:

  1. In the Tab Page Caption field, overwrite the current name with the new name.

    For example, you could overwrite "User-Defined (i)" with "Car Details".

  2. Click OK to rename the tab page.
Tab Page Group:

Grouping of the user-defined tab page an entity.
To change the grouping:

  1. In the Tab Page Group field, select a different group for the user-defined tab page.

    For example, you could change the group from "HR/Details" to "HR/Misc".

  2. Click OK to regroup the tab page.
