Update Employee Timesheet Settings

Self-Service | Update Employee Timesheet Settings command

Summary

Self-Service 3.5 and later functionality.

You can use the Update Employee Timesheet Settings command to attach Timesheet Settings records to a group of employees.

Procedure
  1. Navigate to Self-Service | Update Employee Timesheet Settings.
  2. Double-click Update Employee Timesheet Settings.

The Setup Information tab appears, which displays information about the procedure.

  3. Click Next.
  4. Use the Fields section below to complete the Create Settings tab.

If the settings that you select are the same as an employee's current Timesheet Settings record, then a new record will not be created for the employee.

  5. Click Preview Only.

Important: Click Run Update only when you are confident about the changes that PayGlobal will make. Run Update updates the employee records, so if the process makes changes that you do not want, then you must manually undo your changes or restore to a backup.

A confirm message appears: "Run preview only?"

  6. Click Yes.

An audit log appears that displays the updates that will occur when you click the Run Update button. This option is a preview only and data is not updated.

The PREVIEW Audit Log displays the following information:

    • PREVIEW (audit log is a preview only).
    • The settings that you entered on the Update Employee Timesheet Settings | Create Settings tab.
    • The changes that will be made for each employee.
    • An exclamation mark (!) beside employees who will not be updated.
    • "Create timesheet settings preview SUCCESSFUL" message at the bottom of the page.
  7. Press Esc to close the audit log.
  8. When you want PayGlobal to apply the changes displayed in the PREVIEW audit log, click Run Update.

A confirm message appears: "Run the Create Timesheet Settings update tool?".

  9. Click Yes.

PayGlobal updates the employee records defined by the Employee query.

The UPDATE Audit Log appears and displays the following information:

    • UPDATE (PayGlobal has updated employee records).
    • The settings that you entered on the Update Employee Timesheet Settings | Create Settings tab.
    • The changes that PayGlobal made for each employee.
    • An exclamation mark (!) beside employees who were not updated.
    • "Create timesheet settings update SUCCESSFUL" message at the bottom of the page.
  10. Press Esc to close the audit log.

Fields
New timesheet settings:

Select a Timesheet Settings record.

Start date:

Type the required start date of the record or select from the calendar.

  • If an employee has a current Timesheet Settings record, then PayGlobal automatically adds an End date value (to the existing record) that is one day before the start date of the new record.
  • If an employee has a current Timesheet Settings record with a start date after the start date entered here, then a new record will not be created for that employee.

Note: The options that you select in the fields above will be applied to all employees selected in the employee query below.

Employee query:

Use a query to select a specific group of employees. Leave this field blank to run the process for all employees.

If you have an employee security query attached to your PayGlobal security profile, then PayGlobal will respect that employee query and the employee query that you select here.
