Recalculate Remuneration Ranges

Summary

This run command recalculates remuneration ranges for employees. Use it:

  • Periodically as part of a system maintenance programme
  • After synchronising data into PayGlobal

Synchronising data

Syncline remuneration data into PayGlobal simply imports data into the database. There are no calculations performed, meaning that both the current and the imported data is outdated.

The Recalculate Remuneration Ranges command:

  • Recalculates PIR
  • Recalculates Remuneration Ranges

for:

  • Individual employees
  • Groups of employees
  • All employees

Procedure
  1. Check Salary Bands are set up correctly.
  2. Recalculate Work Area Position Job Evaluations, if applicable.
  3. If you are not using Banding, recalculate the Remuneration Range in the Work Area Position.
  4. If Banding is used, apply Bands to Work Area Positions.
  5. Recalculate Correlation Factor in Work Area Positions.
  6. The following confirm message appears:

    "Do you wish to recalculate job sizes?"

    Click Yes.

  7. Another confirm message appears:

    "Do you wish to recalculate Position In Range for employees?"

    Click Yes.

  8. Tag the employees that you want to recalculate the Position in Range for. To select all employees, press Ctrl+Spacebar and then click OK.
  9. PayGlobal recalculates the remuneration range for all tagged employees.

To check employee remuneration ranges
  1. Double-click the employee record that you want to view Position in Range for.
  2. Click the HR button.
  3. Click the Remun Details icon.
  4. Select the Remuneration Packages tab page.
  5. Change to Edit mode.
  6. Double-click the remuneration package that you want to view Position in Range for to reach the Employee Packages form.
  7. Select the Details (ii) tab page.

    Check the calculated values on this tab page.

  8. Click Close to return to the employee record.
  9. Click Save + Close to return to the Grid.
