Recalculate all PIR (Positions in Range)

Human Resources | Position Management | Job Evaluation Details | Recalculate all PIR command

Summary

Competitive pay is a key element in recruiting, retaining and rewarding the type of employees that are needed to fulfill the business objectives of an organisation. By classifying work area positions into salary bands or ranges, an organisation can use market rate information as well as internal information to ensure that positions in the same range are treated as of equivalent value.

Function

Sometimes changes are made to employee remuneration values.

Such changes affect:

PayGlobal automates this process with the Recalculate all PIR run command that updates records for all affected work area positions in the Position in Range field.

For example, if the remuneration policy for a group of employees changes (e.g. from base salary to fixed remuneration), the Recalculate all PIR command automatically updates all relevant data held in PayGlobal.

Positions in Range

There are three ways to calculate PIR:

  • Banding

Select a work area position and compare job size between salary bands.

  • Work Area Position Job Evaluation

Conduct a job evaluation on a work area position to calculate the way that an employee package weighs up in relation to others.

  • From a Remuneration Range

Remuneration range details and spread are manually entered into a work area position and compared against other remuneration in an organisation.
