Salary Bands

Summary

Organisations with large numbers of employees may choose to use Job Evaluation Salary Bands for remuneration purposes. Salary Bands group Work Area Positions that share the same job size.

Salary Bands

Salary Bands set up salary scales for a group based on a range of job size points. For example, a Financial Accountant position might fall into a band of job sizes that range from 410 to 490 points. All Positions with sizes falling between the band parameters will be assigned to that particular band.

Job Evaluations

Job Evaluation records are required for each Work Area Position. The Job Evaluation defines the job size which places a Work Area Position into the appropriate Salary band.

Updating Work Area Positions

Making changes to a Salary Band invalidates previous Job Evaluation records. Before PayGlobal closes a Salary Band to return to the Grid, the following confirm message appears:

"Do you wish to update related information in attached Work Area Positions?"

  • Yes

    Information contained in the Salary Band updates applicable Work Area Positions.

  • No

    Work Area Positions do not update with regard to the changes in the Salary Band.
