Human Resources | Position Management | Job Evaluation Details | Job Evaluation Categories
Summary |
Several consulting firms have developed Job Evaluation Methods, including Hay, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Cullen Egan Dell. Each method classifies the criteria used to assess the relative importance of a Position. A formula is then applied to the categories to calculate job size. The greater the job size, the higher the remuneration range. This entity records the categories that are used for each Job Evaluation Method. |
Example |
The Hay Consulting firm uses the following categories - Accountability, Know-How, Problem Solving. Price Waterhouse Coopers uses - Authority, Complexity, Education, Experience, Freedom to Act, Human Relations Skills/Contact, Impact of Discretionary Decisions, Responsibility for People Management, Problem Solving, Scope of Work. |
Using Job Evaluation Categories |
Job Evaluation Categories are attached to the applicable Job Evaluation Method. Each Job Evaluation Method has a set formula. The Job Evaluation Method is then attached to a Work Area Position. Your consulting firm will supply a points value for each Job Evaluation Category. PayGlobal then calculates the job size of a Work Area Position by applying the formula set by the Job Evaluation Method to the points values. |
