Modelling a Record

Summary

If you are a Supervisor user, when you add a new record, you can use modelling to create the record based on an existing record. For example, when you want to add a new allowance, you can save time by modelling an existing allowance that uses the same settings. You will only need to enter a new code for the allowance.

Procedure
  1. Right-click the record that you want to model.
  2. Select Model Record (Ctrl+M).

The Model window appears. The fields that you need to complete depends on the record that you are modelling. For example, if you are modelling an allowance, then you must enter a new code.

  3. Complete the required fields in the Model form.
  4. Click OK.

A new record is created based on the record you modelled.

  5. Open the record and add or edit the information as required.

Modelling employee record

When you use Model Record to create a new employee record, employee-specific field values are not copied into the new record.

Modelling allowance record

When you use Model Record to create a new allowance record in v4.27 and newer, all allowance groups in the “Groups” tab for that allowance are also modelled.

Modelling user-profile record

When modelling user profile records, any items on the “Windows Authentication” tab are now not modelled, as these are user specific.
