Summary

The Details tab allows you to attach a security profile to the user profile, and determine general security settings.

Fields
Security Profile:

The security profile that you select determines the user's level of access to folders, entities and tab pages. If a user does not have a security profile attached to their user profile, they will not be able to use some functionality. For example, they could not add documents in Document View.

Employee Code:

Associates the user profile with an employee and prevents users from changing or confirming their own timesheets.

Default Workflow:

If you select a workflow, then the user will initially see that workflow when they log on. They can use the workflow interface to complete tasks or they can close the workflow and use the main PayGlobal window.

Employee Selection Mode:

Determines the columns that are initially displayed in the Employees grid. You should set this field to "1. Standard" to display the following columns: Employee Code, Last Name, First Names, Address1 and Home Phone.

E-mail address:

The user's default e-mail address. Use generic position-based e-mail addresses (such as, payrollmanager@treetop.com) so e-mail can be internally redirected to the appropriate employee. Using generic addresses means that you do not need to change e-mail addresses in PayGlobal every time you appoint a new employee.

Supervisor:

If this checkbox is ticked, the user can:

  • Add or edit User Profiles, Security Profiles and User-Defined Fields (UDFs).
  • View reports in the Inbox that were generated by other users.
  • Model an entity record or a single field within a record.
  • Eject users from the system

    Important: Assign this level of access only to a few high-level users.

Report Operator:

If this checkbox is ticked, then the user can:

  • Add reports to a report group or remove them.
  • Add or delete report groups.
  • Edit report definitions.
SpreadSheet Operator:

When this checkbox is ticked, the user can:

  • Add or edit SpreadSheet Groups and SpreadSheet Definitions
  • Change the design of a SpreadSheet.

    Note: To import spreadsheets, a user's security profile must give them "Edit" access to the Import Spreadsheets command.

Workflow Operator:

When this checkbox is ticked, the user can:

  • Add or edit Workflow Definitions and Workflow Groups.
  • Create, delete or change Workflows.

The user cannot assign a Default Workflow to a user profile. Only users with supervisor rights can edit user profiles and security profiles.

Show field hints:

If this checkbox is ticked, then the user will see the database field name when they hold their cursor over a field label.

PayGlobal classic mode:

If this checkbox is ticked, then PayGlobal forms use a smaller title bar that does not include the tab page number.

Retain ad-hoc query:

If this checkbox is ticked, then PayGlobal retains any queries that the user applies, in addition to the Default Query specified in their security profile. For example, the Default Query in the security profile displays only weekly employees and the user applies an additional query to view employees in one department only. If the Retain ad-hoc query checkbox is ticked, then next time the user logs on, their additional query will still be active

Options:

Leave this field blank. It is used by PayGlobal Development to enable beta functionality, debug flags or company-specific features, and change performance settings.
