Summary

When you log in to PayGlobal, the access rights (or security profile) associated with your Login ID determines what you can see in the PayGlobal tree.

Note: The Login ID is also known as a Username or User Profile.

Security profiles determine which parts of PayGlobal users can access and the actions that they can perform. If a user does not normally require access to a specific part of PayGlobal, then a security profile can hide that part of the software from the user. For example, a payroll clerk would not normally need access to human resources information. You could use a security profile to hide all HR-related information from the payroll clerk.

Important: Incorrect security profiles can seriously affect database integrity and employee confidentiality. If you are not confident about setting up security profiles, then do not change them - contact Customer Support for assistance.

If you change any security settings, then you need to log out and log back in again for the changes to take effect.

Planning Security Profiles

Before you set up security profiles, you need to consider the areas that each user or user group will require access to. You also need to consider their information requirements, such as queries and reports. Use this information to build a set of appropriate profiles.

See Setting a Security Profile for more information.

User Profiles

Each PayGlobal user must have a User Profile and a Security Profile. For further information, see:
