Security Profiles - Upgrading Your Database

Summary

After an upgrade, some users may encounter the following security problems:

  • They lose access to features that were available in the pre-upgrade version.
  • They do not have access to some new features.

To ensure that a user has the appropriate security access, you need to edit their user profile.

Note: When you change any security settings, you need to log out and log back in again for the changes to take effect.

Procedure
  1. Navigate to Administration | Security | User Profiles.
  2. Double-click the required user profile to open it.
  3. Click in the Security Profile field to select it.
  4. Press Ctrl + Enter to open this Security Profile record.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Check the user’s access rights to the relevant folders, entities, makeup tables or commands.
  7. Edit the security profile as required.

Important: Multiple users can have the same security profile so ensure that your changes are appropriate for all users in the group. If the changes apply to only one user, then you should create a new security profile for that user.

  8. Click Save + Close to return to the User Profiles | Details tab.
  9. Click Save + Close to return to User Profiles grid.
