Workflows

Summary

PayGlobal workflows are an interactive visual representation of a process. They use flowcharting techniques to guide you through a process.

You can use workflows to create flowcharts of processes that are applicable to your organisation. For example, the Payroll process or the daily management of Time and Attendance.

Step-by-step workflows enable you to document and simplify your work practices, ensuring that a process is always followed correctly, which helps to maintain data integrity.

Using a Workflow

In PayGlobal many tasks follow a pre-defined process. For example, running a weekly pay:

  1. Open a Standard Pay
  2. Enter Transactions
  3. Process the Pay
  4. Close the Pay
  5. Run Reports.

The workflow diagram is a flowchart. You click on a box to reach the applicable part of PayGlobal. For example, a workflow might contain a box for Open a Pay. If you clicked it, you would reach the Select Periods window which is the first step in opening a Standard pay. You would then follow the process until the pay is successfully opened.

User Profiles and Workflows

Each PayGlobal user has a User Profile that contains their security settings and specific PayGlobal requirements. If you set up a User Profile with a Default Workflow, then the user will see that workflow when they log on.
