Administration | Security | User Profiles | Login Details tab
Summary |
The Login Details tab allows you to specify security settings for the user's login information. |
Fields |
Fail count:This field records the number of consecutive failed login attempts by this user. When the user successfully logs on, their Fail count is reset to zero. However, after three failed login attempts (Fail count = 3), PayGlobal shuts out the user and no further login attempts are allowed. A supervisor user has to reset the Fail count to zero before the user can log on again. Login timeout:This option is disabled if Login timeout = 0 or the field is blank. The Login timeout value determines how many minutes of inactivity PayGlobal allows before it displays the Automatic Logout box.
If the user does not respond within 20 seconds, then PayGlobal automatically logs them out without saving changes. However, if the user is in Daily View or Transaction View when the Automatic Logout box appears, and their Save before Login timeout = "Yes", then PayGlobal saves changes before it logs them out. Note: If PayGlobal cannot save the record due to problems such as validation errors, then it will not log the user out until the error message is cleared. Save before Login timeout:This Yes/No field determines whether PayGlobal saves a user’s changes before it logs them out using Automatic Logout. Screen saver timeout:The screen saver prevents access to PayGlobal when the user leaves their computer unattended. The Screen saver timeout value determines how many minutes of inactivity PayGlobal allows before it displays the screen saver. This value must be greater than or equal to two. Note: To apply the screen saver manually, press F11. Termination Date:PayGlobal automatically updates the Termination Date value in the user profile when the attached employee's Termination date changes. Every time the user logs on, PayGlobal compares the Termination Date against today's date. If the Termination Date is less than or equal to today's date, then the user cannot log on. If the user profile has no employee attached, then you have to maintain the Termination Date manually. Leave the field blank for active user profiles and enter an appropriate date to deactivate the user profile. User Last logged in:This system-generated date is the previous date that this user logged on to PayGlobal. This does not include the last time this user logged into ESS as an Administrator (if applicable). User changed password:This system-generated date is the previous date that this user changed their password. Temporary directory override:You can enter an alternative location for the temporary (Temp) folder. If this field is blank, then PayGlobal defaults to the company data Temp folder. PayGlobal saves reports to the Temp folder if you do not enter a full Filename on the Report Destination - File options tab. Must change password:If this checkbox is ticked, then the user must change their password when they next log on. This setting applies to one password change only. Note: As of PayGlobal 4.39 and ESS 5.4.2, this field also will allow a user to change the password for the User Profile when attempting to login to the ESS Administrator site. Depending on whether the user logs into PayGlobal or the ESS Administration site first will determine where they will be prompted to change their password. Password never expires:If this checkbox is ticked, then the password for this user profile never expires, which overrides the Password must change after field in Company Settings - Security. This feature is usually used for an administrator user profile that is held by network support. Note: If the Must change password and Password never expires checkboxes are ticked, then the user must change their password when they next log on, but after that their password never expires. Login never expiresIf this checkbox is ticked, then the login details for this user profile never expire, which overrides the Unused login expires after field in Company Settings - Security. Locked out:If this checkbox is ticked, then this user profile cannot log on to PayGlobal. Automatic Login:Redundant field. If this checkbox was ticked and PayGlobal was running on a Citrix-based ASP, then users automatically logged on to PayGlobal when they used their Citrix login. Automatic login was only enabled with Citrix-based systems. Automatically synchronise on login:When this check box is ticked, PayGlobal will run the Import Files synchronisation command every time the user starts the application. Generally, this check box is not ticked. |
