Standard Employee Fields - Details (ii)

Summary

If you attempt to save a new employee record before you complete the compulsory fields, then the Standard Employee Fields form appears.

Fields
Work Area Code:

The physical divisions within an organisation that are defined by Locations, Departments and user-definable Dims. After you select a Work Area Code and click OK, the following message appears: "Copy across Work Area defaults". If you select Yes, then the other fields on this tab page are filled in automatically.

Position:

An employee's role or designation.

Location Code:

Location is generally used to describe a ‘pay point’. Sorting by Location allows an operator to collate payslips in a logical manner.

Department Code:

A Department usually describes a breakdown of areas within a company, such as Administration or Factory, and is used primarily for sorting reports.

Cost Centre Code:

Cost Centres group financial costs from employee payments into categories, which can be reported on.

Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Long Service Leave and Leave Credit:

Use these fields to attach the appropriate leave tables to an employee.
