Qualifying Units Accrual

Summary

IMPORTANT: This method is no longer supported in the product, and will be deprecated in a future release.

This method updates the Total accrued by using the following fields to calculate an adjusted average after each pay period close:

  • Total days paid
  • Gross qualifying hours
  • Accrual rate per pay period

It is important to understand, that the total accrued value is recalculated during each pay period close for the Average method, in contrast to calculating the current pay period accrual and adding it to a previously accumulated value.

Qualifying units accruals occur in Standard and Manual pays.

Used for

This method of unit accrual is available for:

  • Annual leave tables
  • Sick leave tables

Calculation

To calculate the total accrued for the annual leave anniversary period, multiply the accrual rate per pay period , usually entered in the Leave | Setup tab, by the total qualifying hours or days during each pay period close:

Accrual rate per pay period * Total days paid

Accrual rate per pay period * Gross qualifying hours
