Leave Credit Table Leave Credits - Details

Payroll | Leave Setup | Leave Credit Tables | Leave Credits | Leave Credit Table Leave Credits | Details tab

Summary

The Details tab defines the Leave Credit and how it is paid out.

Fields
Leave Credit:

Select the Leave Credits record that these criteria will be applied to.

Rule/Rate for Leave Credit Valuation:

PayGlobal uses this rate rule to determine the correct payment rate for this leave credit when more than one applicable rate exists.

Keep details on termination:

"No" (recommended) - When you close the termination pay, PayGlobal removes all leave credit values for the terminated employee to prevent any referential integrity issues.

"Yes" - When you close the termination pay, PayGlobal keeps all leave credit values for the terminated employee that were not paid out.

Payout on termination:

Yes/No field that determines whether PayGlobal pays out the employee's accrued leave credits when you add a termination transaction for them. In Australian databases, you can then use the Payout Method field to determine the type of termination that the leave credit is paid out in.

Payout Method:

Australian databases only. Enabled when Payout on termination = "Yes". This field determines whether PayGlobal pays out the leave credit in an "ETP" termination (default) or a "Standard Termination".

If Payout on termination = "Yes" and Payout Method = "ETP", then this leave credit is:

  • Paid out when an employee receives an ETP on termination
  • Not included in standard termination payment calculations.

If Payout on termination = "Yes" and Payout method = "Standard Termination", then this leave credit is:

  • Paid out when the employee has a standard termination
  • Not included in ETP calculations.

Note: Leave payments in a standard termination are taxed using the marginal rate calculation. However, if the employee is deceased, then their final payment does not have PAYG calculated or withheld so their leave credits are paid tax-free.

If Payout on termination = "No", then the Payout Method is disabled and this leave credit is not paid out on termination.

If you change Payout on termination from "Yes" to "No", then PayGlobal:

  • Disables the Payout Method and Payout allowance fields.
  • Removes the Payout allowance value to ensure that the leave credit is not paid out incorrectly.
Payout allowance:

The Payout allowance is only enabled when Payout on termination = "Yes".

When you click the pick list button, you are presented with a list of Allowance records that have Leave Credit to pay matching the Leave Credit set above.

If you are using an Australian database, the allowance records list is further limited to only those with Subtype = "Leave on termination".

If you leave this field blank, PayGlobal uses the highest ranking allowance in the Leave Credit Allowances records.
