Summary

Some components of PayGlobal can be broken down into Tasks. For example, the role of a receptionist may be broken down into tasks of:

  • Visitors welcomed and offered coffee while they wait.
  • Telephones answered within six rings.
  • Reception area kept tidy at all times.

Using Tasks

Tasks are used in the following areas of PayGlobal:

  • Rostering
    • Shift timebands.
    • Tour shifts.
    • Requirement tours.
    • Requirements.
  • Time & Attendance
    • Keys.
  • Human Resources
    • Key Result Areas (KRA's).

Tasks in Human Resources

KRA's are used to determine the requirements of a Position.  You can gain an objective measure of performance by specifying the tasks that require competency before a KRA is met.

Example 1:

KRA

Maintain a welcoming reception area.

Tasks

  • Reception area kept tidy at all times.
  • Telephones answered within six rings.
  • Visitors offered coffee while they wait.

One KRA can have several tasks, or several KRAs can share the same task.

Example 2:

Staff need to notify the Customer Services Manager if any customer deliveries are going to be late. The Customer Services Manager then telephones the customer to advise them of the delay and the expected arrival time.

In this scenario a KRA could be 'Customer Deliveries on Time'. Performance reviews would look at the correlation between deliveries that were on time and those that were late. Non-performance of this KRA would result in customer dissatisfaction, penalty costs, and extra internal costs on processing the order.

Why can't I see Tasks?

Tasks are not displayed for companies that use the Time & Attendance component only.

Coding of Tasks

As tasks are used in several areas of PayGlobal, the coding convention set by an organisation differentiates between their uses. For example, all Human Resource Tasks could start with the prefix 'HR.'.
