Report Groups - Overrides

Reports | Report Groups | Overrides tab

Summary

You can use these fields to apply override settings to reports in the Report Group. For example, you could use the Pay Sequences field to run a standard report for a different pay sequence than it would normally use.

Fields
Apply Overrides:

Yes/No field that determines whether these override values are available to the reports in this report group. The Report Group Reports - Details tab contains another Apply Overrides field that controls whether PayGlobal applies override values to an individual report. These two levels of control mean that PayGlobal applies overrides only when both Apply Overrides fields are set to "Yes".

Note: If you use Scheduler to run reports automatically, then reports with Apply Overrides = "No" will use settings in the report rather than the report settings in Scheduler.

Offset From, Offset To:

Use these fields to specify the time span that you want to run the reports for. For example, to run a report for the previous week ending yesterday, use Offset From = -7 and Offset to = -1.

Pay Period:

Pay period that you want to run the reports for.

Use list to override pay sequences:

Yes/No field that determines whether PayGlobal uses the previous fields to determine which pay sequences are included in the reports.

  • Yes - Reports use the pay sequences selected in the Pay Sequences field.
  • No - Reports use the pay sequences defined by the Offset and Pay Period fields.
Pay Sequences:

Use the pick list to select the pay sequences that you want to run the reports for. PayGlobal lists the selected pay sequence numbers in this field.

Using Overrides

Using overrides has the following effects:

  • Designer reports that are set up to use a list of pay sequences have that list overridden.
  • Designer reports that use the Virtual Roster table have the Date From and Date To fields overridden.
  • Report overrides will not affect designer reports that need to be run using relative dates, and require user-defined report settings and an associated query expression in the report designer.
  • Hard-coded reports have their list of pay sequences overridden, but no other settings are changed. The exception is the PGPRMISC061 - Pay Period Audit Report, which has its Date From and Date To values overridden.
  • No taxation reports use overrides.
  • The PGTASTD010 - Daily In Out Report and PGTASTD021 - Clocking Report do not use a list of pay sequences, but their Date From and Date To values are overridden.
