Rostering | Breaks
Summary |
Absolute Breaks occur at specific times, irrespective of the employee’s work time. Looking at the screen shot below, you can see that this Break has been set up as an Absolute Break between 12:30 and 13:00. If an employee’s work hours span these times, then PayGlobal will insert this Break. Important: Absolute Breaks and Relative Breaks must have different codes! Up to three breaks can be applied during an employee’s shift, but only one (12:30 to 13:00) exists in this record. |
When to use |
An Absolute Break requires a fixed Start and End time. Therefore an Absolute Break would normally be used for employees who work set hours each day. For example, a receptionist works 08:00 to 17:00, with a one-hour break for lunch every day between 12:00 and 13:00. After creating an Absolute Break, you can attach the Break to the receptionist's employee profile as the default break. |
