Summary

Rounding is:

  • Applied to all physical clock times that fall outside anchor conditions.
  • For employees who do not use rosters.

Rounding Rules

Rounding rules are specified by your organisational needs and usually reflect the minimum time period for payment. For example, you may pay your staff in 15 minute increments. Therefore all clock times should be rounded to that value.

Types of rounding
No rounding:

No rounding will be applied to the physical clock time.

Forward to the nearest:

The physical clock time will be rounded forward to the nearest time increment.

Back to the nearest:

The physical clock time will be rounded back to the nearest time increment.

To the nearest:

The physical clock time will be rounded either forward or backward to the nearest time increment.

Advanced rounding:

Advanced rounding is used when the predefined rounding methods available in the anchor group do not cater to the client's requirements in this area.

In the following example, an employee has not been rostered and has clocked in at 08:28. PayGlobal will round the time differently according to the rounding method selected:
