Transaction View - Customise Column Extensions - Details

Transaction View | Tools | Customise | Customise Column Extensions | Details tab

Summary

The Customise Column Extensions | Details tab allows you to:

  • Specify the data source for a new column added with Customise Columns.
  • Use colour to:
    • Highlight results that are set up on the Results tab page.
    • Identify different types of cells.
  • Change column header names.
Procedure
  1. Click a cell in the column that you want to customise.
  2. In the main menu, click Tools | Customise | Customise Column Extensions or press Alt+F10.

The Customise Column Extensions form appears.

  3. Set up the required values, and then click OK.
Fields
Data source:

Select a data source for the column from the drop-down box list. This field is disabled if you cannot change the column's data source, for example, the employee's Code column.

Note: The Data source drop-down box displays only date values for Employee Date Columns 10, 11 and 12, and numeric values for Employee Numeric Columns 13, 14 and 15.

Customise colours:

Select 'Yes' to change the colour of cells in the selected column. Use the colour palette to select foreground and background colours.

  • Left-click a palette colour to set the foreground (FG).
  • Right-click a palette colour to set the background (BG).

Move the brightness trackbar to the left (brighter) or right (dimmer) as required.

Caption:

Enter a header caption for the selected column. By default, this field contains the name of the selected Data source. For example, Data source = "Description" so Caption = "Description", which you could shorten to "Desc".

Selected:

If the selected column is a Totals Column, then you can opt to suppress colours for specific events in that column.

Important: Advanced parameters are database-specific and they must be set up by a PayGlobal consultant.

Save your layout

When you finish customising your layout, you must use File | Save Layout As to save your settings. Your most recently saved layout becomes the default layout, and you will see it whenever you access this window. If you do not Save Layout As, then your changes will be lost when you exit or apply another layout.
