Proportional Costing

Transaction View | Insert | Proportional Costing

Summary

Proportional costing allows you to split the cost of an employee's allowance transactions between cost centres. You can apply proportional costing in a Standard or Manual pay, or to a permanent transaction. When you process the pay, PayGlobal applies the proportional costing split to allowance transactions for that employee. Proportional costing overrides the standard cost centre hierarchy.

Important: Proportional costing is applied only to allowances that have Allow proportional costing = 'Yes' on the Allowances - Details (iii) tab page.

Apply Proportional Costing
  1. In Employee View, click the employee whose allowance transactions you want to split.
  2. In the main menu, click Insert | Proportional Costing or press asterisk (*) on the numeric keyboard.

The Select Cost Centres list appears.

  3. Click the checkboxes for the cost centres that you want to include in the proportional costing.
  4. Click OK.

The Proportional Costing form appears with the first Percentage cell selected.

  5. Press Enter to see the Percentage form.
  6. In the Percentage field, enter the value for this cost centre.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Repeat these steps to enter Percentage values for each cost centre.
  9. Click OK.

Important: If the Transaction Total does not equal 100%, then a Warning message appears. You cannot apply the proportional costing until this total is correct.
