Creating Workflows - PayGlobal Workflow Editor

Workflows | Workflow Groups | Workflows tab | PayGlobal Workflow Editor

Summary

You can use the PayGlobal Workflow Editor to create or edit workflows using similar functionality to the Microsoft Visio application.

Open PayGlobal Workflow Editor

To open the PayGlobal Workflow Editor:

  1. On the Workflow Groups | Workflows tab, click Edit.
  2. Right-click the workflow definition that you want to edit, and then click Edit Workflow Definition.

    The workflow appears in the PayGlobal Workflow Editor.

Select workflow objects

Click a workflow object to select it. To select all objects, right-click the workflow and click Select All.

Change object properties

Double-click an object to see the Edit Object form, which contains the following tab pages:

  • General - Visual settings for the object, such as size, colour and text (see below).
  • Image - Not used.
  • Frame - Frame and border settings.
  • Association - PayGlobal area that the object links to when you run the workflow (see below).

General tab

Height and Width of the object.

Text that appears in the object.

Shape Type: Object shapes are associated with specific types of workflow steps.

  • Hexagon - Pre-defined process that marks the beginning of a workflow.
  • Oval - Processes that are outside PayGlobal.
  • Diamond - Decision processes with options on the process arrow.
  • Green rectangle - Action button. If you double-click an action button, you will go to the next level of the process or to a PayGlobal process.
  • Blue rounded rectangle - The end of a process. If you double-click this button, you will return to the previous level.

Association tab

These settings create a link between PayGlobal and the workflow so they must be set up correctly.

Association type:

Select the appropriate Association type to specify the range of options that an object can link to. For example, if you wanted to link the object to the Employees entity, then you would select "Entity".

Edit Association:

Click this button to see a list of options based on the Association Type that you selected. For example, if Association Type = "Entity", then you would see the Global List.

Clear Association:

Click this button to clear an association from a workflow object.

Association:

Automatically completed based on the Edit Association option that you selected.

Tab Page:

Enabled when you opt to associate the object with a tab page.

Store in/check:

Accept the default value (Memory cell 1).

Toolbar

The toolbar on the left has several tools for creating and editing workflow objects..
