User-Defined Indexes - Details

Procedure

To define an index on PayPeriodCode for the Employee table:

  1. Navigate to Administration | User-Defined Indexes.
  2. Press Insert.
  3. Enter a code. When entering a new user- defined index, it is recommended that you enter an asterisk (*) for the code and leave the description blank.
  4. Complete the following fields:

    Select Employee from the combo box. Clicking the combo arrow beside Field will populate the list of Existing Indexes

    Field

    Select PayPeriodCode

    If there is already an existing index, a new index should not be defined.

  5. Click Save + Close.

    A confirmation box prompts you:
    "New user defined index is pending. Do you wish to reindex these tables now?"

  6. Click Yes to recreate the indexes.
  7. A confirm box will appear asking if you wish to view the audit log. Click Yes to continue. Ensure that the audit log is free of errors. Press Esc to exit the audit log.
