Overview

Before you can change from Employee View to SpreadSheet View you must:

  • Create a SpreadSheet toolbar.

Create a SpreadSheet toolbar

Open the Daily View window for any pay period, date or type.

  2. Click Customize to see the Customize | Toolbars tab.
  3. Click New to see the Custom box.
  4. In the Toolbar name field, type SpreadSheet. Click OK.

An empty SpreadSheet toolbar appears to the left of the Custom box.

  5. In the Customize box, click the Commands tab.
  6. In the Categories list, click Tools.
  7. In the Commands list, drag-and-drop the following commands into the SpreadSheet toolbar:
    • Employee View
    • SpreadSheet View.
  8. In the Categories list, click File.
  9. In the Commands list, drag-and-drop the following commands into the SpreadSheet toolbar:
    • Load SpreadSheet Data
    • Save SpreadSheet Data.

Customise Toolbar buttons

The SpreadSheet buttons in the toolbar display only text so you need to shorten the toolbar button names.

  2. In the Name field, type SSView.
  3. Press Enter to change the button text.
  4. Shorten the other toolbar button names as follows:
    • Change Load SpreadSheet Data to LoadSSData.
    • Change Save SpreadSheet Data to SaveSSData.
  5. In the Customize box, click Close.
  6. Drag-and-drop the SpreadSheet toolbar into the Daily View toolbar area.

Save Layout

After creating and customising the SpreadSheet toolbar, you must save your layout so you can use the SpreadSheet toolbar each time you access Daily View.

Set up Layout Options
  1. In the Daily View menu bar, click Tools | Customise | Layout Options.

    The Layout Options form appears.

  2. Click the SpreadSheet tab.
  3. In the SpreadSheet field pick list, click the appropriate SpreadSheet.
  4. Click OK.

Note: If you try to use SpreadSheet View before you set up the Layout Options, then the following warning message appears:
"There is no associated spreadsheet in the layout options viewable."
