Troubleshooting Payroll using F5 and F6

Employees | Payroll

Summary

PayGlobal contains two functions that help you analyse values:

  • F5 - Employee History Log
  • F6 - Audit Analysis

F5 - Employee History Log

If you click in a field and then press the F5 key, PayGlobal displays the Employee History Log that shows the value of that field in each closed pay period.

For example, to check an employee's annual leave accruals:

  1. Navigate to the employee's Annual Leave tab.
  2. Click in the Total accrued/Total pro-rata field to switch to Edit mode.
  3. Press F5 to display the Employee History Log.
  4. Check the amounts in the Field Value column.

Turning off F5 functionality

In some organisations, PayGlobal may run slower with the F5 functionality turned on because it increases data handling.

To turn off the F5 functionality:

  1. Navigate to the Company Settings | Payroll | Misc tab.
  2. Set Create F5 history to "No".

F6 - Audit Analysis

If you click in a field and then press the F6 key, PayGlobal displays the Audit Analysis window that shows details of all changes to that field.

  • Time and Date of the change
  • Who made the change
  • Whether the field was changed by adding a new value (Insert - I), editing (E) or deleting the value (D).
  • Before and After values of the field.
  • Table Name.
  • Field Name.
