Daily View

Summary

When you click the drop-down arrow on a toolbar, click Add or Remove Buttons, and then click Customize, the Customize form appears with three tab pages for customising toolbars.

Toolbars tab
Toolbars:

A list of default toolbars. Click a toolbar checkbox to hide or show the corresponding toolbar.

New:

When you click this button the Custom box appears. Enter a name for your new toolbar and click OK. Your new toolbar is added to the Toolbars list and it appears as a blank floating toolbar.

Rename:

Enabled for new toolbars only. When you select a new toolbar in the Toolbars list and then click Rename, the Rename Toolbar box appears. Enter a new name for your toolbar and click OK.

Delete:

Enabled for new toolbars only. When you select a new toolbar in the Toolbars list and then click Delete, a confirmation message appears. Click OK to delete the toolbar.

Reset:

Enabled for default toolbars only. The Reset button returns a customised toolbar to its default settings. When you select a toolbar in the Toolbars list and then click Reset, a confirmation message appears. Click OK to return the toolbar to its default settings.

Commands tab

The Commands tab page lists commands grouped by category. Click a category to see a list of the associated commands, then drag-and-drop the required command into a toolbar.

Options tab

The Options tab page contains other customisation settings.

Note: The Personalized Menus and Toolbars options are not fully implemented so you cannot customise menus as indicated.

Large icons:

Select this option to display larger toolbar icons.

Show ToolTips on toolbars:

Select this option to display ToolTips when you hold your mouse cursor on a toolbar button. ToolTips contain the button name and shortcut key (optional).

Show shortcut keys in ToolTips:

Select this option to display shortcut key information in ToolTips.

Menu animations:

These options control how the list of menu options appear. Select from (None), Random, Unfold, and Slide.

Save your layout

When you finish customising your layout, you must use File | Save Layout As to save your settings. Your most recently saved layout becomes the default layout, and you will see it whenever you access this window. If you do not Save Layout As, then your changes will be lost when you exit or apply another layout.
