Award-based Superannuation

The consolidation of legacy awards into the Modern Awards structure means that some awards can provide a lower Minimum monthly earnings ($) amount than the legislated requirement.

If your database contains an award that specifies different superannuation values to the ATO, then you can:

  1. Create a new Super Settings Group for that award.
  2. Add date-effective Super Settings records for the award values.
  3. Select the Super Settings Group on the award.

When you process a pay, PayGlobal applies the award-specific superannuation settings to all employees on that award.

Standard Superannuation

If the awards in your database use the same superannuation values as the ATO, then:

  1. If you upgrade from PayGlobal 1.95 RC7 or earlier, you do not have to add or change any records. The upgrade process will create default records and add default values so PayGlobal will continue to apply the current ATO superannuation settings to all employees. The upgrade process automatically creates a DEFAULT - Default Super settings group record that contains your previous Superannuation Settings records as Super Settings records.
  2. If you create a new databases, then you need to create a default Super Settings Group record and add a current Super Settings record.

Add a Record

To create a Super Settings Groups record:

  1. In the PayGlobal Tree, navigate to Payroll | Superannuation | Super Settings Groups.
  2. Press Insert.
  3. Enter a suitable Code and Description, and then save the record.

Now you can add a Super Settings record.
