Self-Service | Timesheet Settings | Details tab
Fields |
Self-Service 3.5 and later functionality. Note: The fields on this tab cannot be edited after the record is attached to employees. Timesheet type:The method that employees will use to enter their timesheets in Self-Service. The options are:
Period:The period that is used for the timesheet. Pick list displays periods with Frequency = 'Weekly' only and does not need to be the same as the employee's payroll period. If you use Self-Service 4.2.1 or greater, you can select fortnightly pay periods for Group 2 timesheets. If you select a fortnightly pay period, the Options tab | Use flexitime field is set to "No" and disabled. Uses roster:Yes/No field that controls whether Self-Service automatically displays the employee's roster. If Timesheet type = "1. Total by timesheet", then this field is set to 'False' and disabled. Variance type:The Variance type has two purposes: 1. Compare hours Self-Service can compare the hours that an employee is scheduled to work against the hours they enter in their timesheet. The difference is displayed in the Variance cell for the day.
2. Public holiday payments Self-Service uses the variance to get the number of hours an employee with the following settings will be paid for a public holiday: - Timesheet type: "1. Total by timesheets" - Variance type: "Profiled". If Variance type = "None", or "Roster" and the employee does not have a roster, then the number of hours that the employee will be paid for the public holiday is zero. Default allowance:When you import "1. Total by timesheet" timesheets into PayGlobal, transactions are created, so a default allowance must be defined. The allowance that you specify here is not used if the Allowance field is set up on the Timesheet Settings - Fields tab and an allowance is selected (by default or by the employee). When you import "2. Timebands by timesheet" timesheets into PayGlobal, timebands are created, so a default allowance is not required and this field is cleared and disabled. Allow day-by-day workflow:Controls whether employees must submit their weekly timesheet in one action, or whether they can submit one day at a time.
Use break amountEnabled when Timesheet type = "2. Timebands by timesheet". Yes/No field that controls whether the Break field is displayed on "2. Timebands by timesheet" type timesheets. Yes: Breaks are entered in the Break field on the timesheet. No: The Break field is not displayed for timesheets in Self-Service. Employees enter breaks by adding a timeband for each period that they worked and leave gaps between the timebands where they took their breaks. For example, to show that they took a 1 hour break 12:00 - 13:00, the employee would enter the following timebands: Timeband 1: 08:00 - 12:00 Timeband 2: 13:00 - 17:00. |
