Summary

The Code and Description fields are templates for that set of periods. You do not need to create periods individually because you can set up templates with wildcard values and then run the tool to create all the required periods.

After you complete top half of the Details tab and the Link PTD by tab, click Generate Codes to see the default Code and Description templates that the tool will use. You can then edit these templates, if required.

You can click the folder button between the Code and Description fields to list the records that currently exist for that period. For example, if you click the folder in the PTD row, you will see a list of PTD records. You can select a record from the list to populate the Code and Description fields, and then replace some characters with wildcards to create your own Code and Description templates. However, if you create some Code and Description templates and then click Generate Codes, the tool will overwrite your templates with the default templates.
