Processing Cost Centres and Jobs

Note

Points to note when processing Cost Centres:

To ensure that the addition of budgeting features does not significantly affect the current processing speed, PayGlobal will only process Cost Centres and/or Job Codes with a budget attached.

PayGlobal will use only those employees processed to determine which exceptions have occurred. This occurs across all Pay Sequences chosen, not by each pay sequence processed. Therefore, if you  process one employee only, PayGlobal will not post a warning if the combination of this employee plus others exceed the budgeted amount. If you are relying on this audit, you may need to process all employees to determine if budgets have been exceeded.

Some sites are set up so that each employee has a unique Job Code, and budgets are by Job Code in terms of hours (generalised to use FTE hours framework). In this scenario, it would not matter whether employees were processed using changed transactions or not.

During processing, costings are never broken down by either proportional costing and/or costing by allowance groups. PayGlobal can not accurately warn you if you are using these features for employees whose budgets need to be monitored and use these kinds of Cost Centre. Budgets specified in terms of job codes are not be affected by this as the break down of transactions during Closing procedures only relates to Cost Centres.
