Internal Companies - Allowances

Organisation | Divisions | Internal Companies | Allowances tab

Summary

An allowance is a benefit or an amount paid to an employee. You can create default settings for allowances that change according to the internal company being accessed.

Add allowances to an internal company only if you want to apply a particular override, such as a rate or a cost centre. For example, your database may contain two internal companies and you want to use different cost centres for allowance transactions based on the employee's internal company.

Allowance hierarchy

PayGlobal uses specific hierarchies to derive allowance values (see Allowance Transaction Hierarchy)

For example, it uses the following hierarchy for Rate amount values:

  • Award Allowance
  • Period Allowance
  • Internal Company Allowance
  • Allowance
  • Employee | Rates - Default
  • Employee | Rates - Override
  • Award Rates.

If you enter an allowance, and the internal company is the highest level in the hierarchy, then PayGlobal uses the values that you enter on the Internal Company Allowances - Details form to create default settings for that allowance transaction.
