Summary

Use this calculation method for allowances that will be applied to annual leave tables requiring employees to automatically receive leave loading with their annual leave payments.

If a different calculation method is specified in the leave loading allowance, then it will override the calculation method specified in the annual leave table allowance.

Recommended Use

Allowances with Calculation method = 'K. Leave Loading using AL table' must have Type = 'A. Allowance'. PayGlobal checks these values and allows you to save K-type allowances only if Type = 'A. Allowance'. You cannot save K-type allowances that have any other type value.

Calculation

% Leave Loading * Annual Leave transaction total

% Leave Loading

"% Leave Loading" is the value contained in following fields of the Annual Leave | Values tab:

• % of entitled value
• % of pro-rata value
• On termination % of entitled value
• On termination % of pro-rata value.

This part of the calculation is dependent on the annual leave transaction field Pay pro-rata loading.

The Pay pro-rata loading field contains six options:

• Entitled only

  Pays leave loading on entitled leave and not on pro-rata

• Pro-rata only

  Pays leave loading on pro-rata leave and not on entitled

• Both

  Pays leave loading on both entitled and pro-rata

• Don't pay any

  Pays no leave loading

• Yes (default)

  The same as 'Both'.

• No

  Same as 'Entitled only'.

Annual Leave Transaction Total

The annual leave transaction total is the value contained in the Transaction total field of an Annual Leave transaction.

Example

An employee is to receive payment for annual leave and the following settings are contained in this record:

• Annual leave table, % of entitled value field = 17.5
• A paying 'A' type allowance with the Allowance Calc Method of 'K' linked to the annual leave table
• An annual leave transaction is paying Entitled units only and the Transaction total = 223.50
• The annual leave transaction has the Pay pro-rata loading field = Yes

Based on the information above the Annual Leave, Leave Loading transaction will be calculated as follows:

17.5% * $223.50 = $39.11

Additional notes

Based on the criteria applied to the Pay pro-rata loading field:

• If leave loading is paid the transaction value will accumulate to the Employee's Loading ($) field on pay closure.
• If leave loading is not paid the transaction value will accumulate to the Employees's Overdue loading ($) field on pay closure.
