Allowance Type - R. Salary

Organisation | Entitlements | Allowances | Details (i) tab | Type field

Summary

Salary transactions may be paid using allowance type R. Salary.

However, they are rarely used because most clients prefer to use H. Hourly allowances and payroll rules to pay employees for hours worked.

PayGlobal automatically generates salary transactions for all salaried employees on the condition:

  • An R. Salary type allowance has been set up in PayGlobal.
  • Payment type = 'Salaried' on the Payroll | Payments tab of their employee record.
  • Auto-pay = 'Yes' on the Payroll | Payments tab of their employee record.

Important: Payroll rules are the most efficient way of creating salary payments because the salary payments are automatically reduced when leave payments are present in the pay. R. type salary allowances do not automatically reduce the pay in this situation. If you are using payroll rules to create salary payments, then use an 'H' type allowance to pay these employees.

This type of allowance is always set as Paying on the Details (i) tab page of an allowance.

To flag an employee as Salaried

On the Payments tab page of an employee record, set the Payment type to 'Salaried'.
