Allowance Type - S. Sick Leave and S.Special Leave

Summary

Payments using the S. Sick Leave and S.Special Leave allowance type debit an employee's sick leave balance.

You can view this type of allowance in the History Analysis Leave Calendar regardless of the Show on History Analysis Leave Calendar field setting.

Transactions using an allowance type 'S' pay an employee their wages from sick leave that has accrued.

This type of allowance is always set as Paying on the Details (i) tab page of an allowance.

Accruing Sick Leave

Sick leave accrues in the Sick Leave tab page of an employee record. The accrual increases as the employee works.

Setting up Sick Leave Allowances

Generally only one allowance code 'Type - S' is set up in your PayGlobal system. This allowance code can cover all types of sick leave.

You may need to record different types of sick leave. For example, 'Sick with medical certificate' or 'Sick without medical certificate'.

In this situation, create additional sick leave allowances to cover variations of sick leave.
