Payroll Rules - Action Clauses

Organisation | Entitlements | Payroll Rules | Action Clauses tab

Summary

Important: Only your PayGlobal Consultant should create payroll rules. Incorrect payroll rules will severely affect your system.

Action clauses are run when the payroll rule is processed.

The employee and qualifying clauses filter employees so the action clause is applied only to employees who meet all criteria for the payroll rule.

Examples

Examples of payroll rule action clauses are:

Post allowance group result for "AL ACCRUAL"1
Post allowance quantity from accumulator 1
Create allowance from posted details to "ALACCR"
Reset all posted accumulator details

This set of action clauses generates a non- paying leave accrual allowance for annual leave for the current pay period.

Note: When you create an payroll rule action clause, the Fields list contains sets of similar options. If you use one of these Fields options and then you edit the clause, PayGlobal automatically selects the first option in the set, not the option that you used. For example, if you create a clause with "Daily payments for [ ] after", and then edit it, PayGlobal selects "Daily payments for" as the default option in the Fields list.

Appointments Action Clauses

Additional action clauses are available for appointments when:

  • Use effective rates=Yes in Modify Company Settings (General | Settings | Regional)
  • Edit WAP codes = Yes in Modify Company Settings (Payroll | Processing | Transactions tab).

These payroll clauses enable you to select an appointment field and a value for the field, for example “AppointmentReasonCode equal to Promotion”.

The Commencement Date and Expiry date on the Appointment must be within the current pay period being processed.

The following action clauses are available for appointments:

  • Post default Appointment total period hours to accumulator
  • Post non default Appointment total period hours to accumulator
  • Post allowance WAP code from default appointment
  • Post allowance WAP code from non default appointment
  • Post allowance award code from default appointment
  • Post allowance award code from non default appointment
  • Post Employee.Rate amount (default) to accumulator
  • Post RateAmount (from posted AwardCode) to accumulator

This action requires the Award code to be posted as part of this action clause and before this clause. Use this clause to calculate the difference in pay between two appointments.

  • Post RateAmount (from posted Appointment.AwardCode) to accumulator.

This action clause gets the RateAmount from the AwardRate makeup table and then posts the RateCode.

    For example:

    • Post Employee.Rate amount (default) from accumulator 1
    • Post RateAmount (from posted Appointment.AwardCode) to accumulator 2
    • Subtract variable from accumulator 2 using accumulator 1

This action clause needs to call after action clause “Post allowance award code from default appointment” or “Post allowance award code from non default appointment”.
