Payroll Rules - Employee Clauses

Organisation | Entitlements | Payroll Rules | Employee Clauses tab

Summary

Important: Payroll rules should only be created by your PayGlobal Consultant. Changing payroll rules incorrectly will have a severe impact on your system.

The first stage of the filtering process of an payroll rule is to state which employees the rule will apply to, and which will be cast out.

Example

For example, to apply a filter on employees in your system, so that only employees who are currently on parental leave will progress to the Qualifying Clauses tab page, your PayGlobal Consultant will have created the rule 'Termination date is empty and Parental leave end date is not empty'.

Today Operators

When you create a clause for a date field, you can use the following operators that are based on today:

  • Is equal to today by
  • Is less than or equal today by
  • Is greater than or equal today by

For example, if today is 01/08/2011 you can create the following types of employee clauses:

  • To select employees whose planned termination date is 31 days from today (01/09/2011):

"Planned termination date is equal to today by 31".

  • To select employees whose planned termination date is on or after 01/09/2011:

"Planned termination date is greater than or equal today by 31".

  • To select employees who were terminated on or before 01/07/2011:

"Termination date is less than or equal today by -31".

You need to use two clauses to define a range:

  • To select employees whose planned termination date is in the range from today to 31 days in the future:

"Planned termination date is greater than or equal today by 0" and "Planned termination date is less than or equal today by 31"

  • To select employees who were terminated in the range from yesterday to 31 days in the past:

"Termination date is less than or equal today by -1" and "Termination date is greater than or equal today by -31"
