Permanent Lock

Administration | Maintenance | Lock System | Permanent

Summary

If you run the Lock System command and click the Permanent button, then you:

  • Lock other users out of PayGlobal, even after you exit PayGlobal.
  • Prevent yourself from running reports.

    Important: You must run the Unlock System command before you exit PayGlobal or you will lock yourself out of the application.

Apply a Permanent Lock
  1. Double-click the Lock System command.
  2. Click the Permanent button.

    The following message appears: "You are about to create a Permanent Lock on the Database. If you exit PayGlobal without removing this lock you will not be able to log back in unless you use the /UNLOCKPERM switch."

  3. Click Create Lock.

    The following message appears: "Permanent lock created."

  4. Click OK.

Remove a Permanent Lock

You must run the Unlock System command before you exit PayGlobal or you will lock yourself out of the application.

  1. Double-click the Unlock System command.
  2. Click the Permanent button.

    The following message appears: "Permanent lock removed."

  3. Click OK.

If you lock yourself out of PayGlobal, then you need to remove the permanent lock before you use PayGlobal.

  1. Log on using the hr.exe /unlockperm switch.

    The following message appears: "Permanent lock removed."

  2. Log on to PayGlobal as usual.

Other Users

You must notify other users before you run the Lock System command. The Administration | Tables/Users Status | Users tab displays all users currently logged on to PayGlobal.
