Remote Data Importing

Summary

The following instructions show you how to set up PayGlobal so you can e-mail data files to the server to allow you to synchronise the data into the database. The data file will be saved to the import folder.

This functionality is commonly used for Clock data but can also be used to send synchronisation files for importing into the database.

How to set up the WorkGroup

Log on to PayGlobal in an Administrator capacity.

Workgroups

  1. Go to Administration | Messaging | Workgroups.
  2. Right-click and add a new record.
  3. Create a suitable code and description, for example, Code = 'I.SYNC' and Description = 'Data Synchronise'.
  4. Save the Workgroup.
  5. Click Edit and then add a Message Diversion Rule.
  6. Complete the fields on the Message Diversion Rules - Message Diversion Conditions tab.
  7. Click Save and Close.

Comms

  1. Click the Modify Company Settings command.
  2. Select Comms.
  3. Select your workgroup in the WorkGroup field.
  4. Ensure the POP3 settings (see e-mail addresses below) and SMTP settings are correct. You need to check with the ASP manager to ensure the client e-mail address details have been set up.

Setup is now complete.
